Available versions
Note that ALL versions remove the negative travel zone
- Race Spec – For those that want the best throttle feedback, eliminates virtually all axial play while retaining a few degrees of rotational free play
- Street (tight) – For performance street riding and daily commuters, offers buttery smooth throttle action and the same rotational free play as the Race Spec version
- Street (loose) – Same as Street (tight), but retains the full stock rotational free play
Understanding the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R/ZX10-R Throttle Slop Issue
-
- Jerky low-speed throttle transitions mid-corner (it’s hard to tell where the throttle will engage)
- Inaccurate rev-matching and blipping on downshifts (when closing the throttle, you hit enter the negative rotational “dead zone”)
- Disconnected feeling from your machine (the excessive clearance and loose feel makes for a overly-sensitive and “twitchy” throttle)
How the StopSlop™ Spacer Fixes It
Note: The RACE SPEC version is designed for closed-course / track use only
OPERATION OF THIS PRODUCT ON A MOTORCYCLE WITH AN ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Use of this product will physically disable the forward throttle cruise control cancellation feature on vehicles equipped with electronic cruise control. The cruise control system must be permanently disabled, flashed out, or removed entirely prior to installing this product.
After installing this product, ALWAYS VERIFY FREE MOVEMENT AND THE COMPLETELY UNHINDERED, FULL RETURN OF THE THROTTLE BEFORE AND AFTER STARTING THE MOTORCYCLE. Failure to verify safe throttle function may lead to a stuck throttle, loss of control, and a crash resulting in severe injury or death.

Brad –
I received the stop slop in the mail yesterday.
It took me longer to walk to the mailbox than it did to install it.
It works as advertised….
2 thumbs up 👍👍

It’s got my vote – the device arrived today, installed it to my ZX-4RR in literally 5 minutes.
The re-installed throttle was nice and free moving with no lateral movement and 0 negative throttle 😍
Coming off the last 2 generations of S1000RR i really disliked the extra sloppy throttle play. Now it’s got a real throttle 🥳

Stop slop is the most simple mod you didn’t even know you needed. Eliminates the dead space on throttle application and release without any negative feedback. Easy and quick install. And even easier results.

It greatly improved throttle feel by removing the forward rotation of the throttle along with nearly all perceptible lateral play. The throttle feels MUCH better now with an extremely positive forward stop, zero side to side play, and a more “mechanical” feel that provides increased feedback during throttle activation and deactivation.
With the now positive stop, I find it easier to control light inputs and initial openings are smoother. The “brick wall” feeling is also reassuring when coming off throttle now that it can be slammed shut quickly without over-shooting the old mushy factory “stop” into the forward rotation. Surprisingly, when downshifting using the auto-blipper, the bike is now blipping the RPM more consistently than it did previously.
I rode for about two hours today and haven’t found any downsides. No issues with increased or decreased idle speed, no error lights, etc. It does remove the ability to cancel cruise control using the forward throttle roll, but there’s still several other ways to do that. Push the button to turn it off, pull in the clutch lever, activate the front or rear brake, etc. This thing is very impressive for such a simple and inexpensive product. Funny enough, it does exactly what the pricey billet aluminum Graves tube does, but with a cost of about $100 less and a much simpler installation. It’s also easily removable if desired. Definitely recommend trying one!

Installation was so quick I had to go to the how to video to make sure I did it right. Super easy and simple fix to that dead spot we are all fighting and for the price why wouldn’t you.
